The Fire Tower at the Norwegian Forest Museum Ingvild Herberg/ Norsk Skogmuseum

At the Norwegian Forest Museum, you can explore a copy of the fire tower from the Haukenes Mountains in Rømskog. The guard room is reconstructed to resemble the way it looked like in 1976, and from the Fire Tower, raging 12 meters off the ground, you can enjoy the view of river Glomma and the surrounding areas.

You can learn about the history of the fire towers and the fire preparedness, as well as some of the challenges in today’s forest management.

We would like to thank our sponsors for making this exhibition possible.
